If you are a leader or if you want to become a leader in the future, you can follow these five easy steps and become a success magnet:

1. You have to internalize the responsibility of being a leader. Leadership is something that is taken – not given. You can’t force leadership on anyone. They will only become a leader when they decide they want to take that leadership role. It is not just a task to fulfill, but it is a craft that one should be passionate about.

Leadership is a gift to be embraced and a skill that continues to improve. Being a leader is not just about being the boss of everyone, but it is serving others and setting a good example. Learn that you should first be a model of excellence – for your team to be more inspired to be at their best at all times.

2. Establish good relationships with your teammates. You should be more relatable and more approachable, since you are the all seeing eye of your company. Being a leader does not mean that you have to set a bridge between titles and ranks, but being a leader means removing bridges and having a stronger bond with the team as you help one another progress.

Your goal as a leader is to lift up each person on your team and edify them and bring out the best in each person.The goal as a leader is to develop your people into becoming leaders. Being a good leader is helping to remove all fear amongst your team mates. Once they enter the NO FEAR zone, they will naturally be excited about the team, the training, the support and the possibilities. This is something that is contagious.

3. Learn the difference between strategies that work and strategies that will just gobble up all of the attention and focus of your team. I always tell people to stick to the basics and what has been tried tested and proven over the years. Rapport building strategies are the most important.Asking people qualifying questions to find a need and getting people to a call or presentation.

Realize that most people don’t have a huge amount of time to build a business, and most will be building part time.Any strategies you teach need to target the masses. Understand that there is a significant learning curve in online marketing strategies.It’s always better to be safe than sorry, especially when there’s no need to risk at all. So, be aware of which ways work better, and stick to that idea, so you won’t have any regrets in the future. If you are teaching online marketing, stick to the basics of Facebook and Blogging.

4. Believe in your team as much as you believe in yourself. If you think you are capable of handling a business, then you are very much able to manage a team with great confidence. Trust the people under you, because they are with you for a unique purpose, which is to help your company reach your highest potential.

No successful business person can do it alone. Of course mistakes will be there to drain some of the sunshine out of you, but that doesn’t mean you should lose hope in one another. It only means you must work harder together and stick together as a team.

5. Throw away fear and anxiety. If you’re scared about risks and possible mistakes, then you must shape up now and be ready to get out of your comfort zone. Leadership does not have a comfort zone, so don’t be afraid to be unique in carrying out your strategies.

After all, you were chosen because you are trusted. Prove to your team that you are worthy of that trust, and be the best alpha leader there is.

  1. This was right to the point with some truths that can help a lot of people out, Darren.

    So many people are afraid of leadership because they’re afraid of responsibility.  They also think they have to be exactly like their millionaire mentor and are responsible for people’s success.  I know because this was me!

    I agree with simple focus on the internet.  The best people I’ve ever brought in were from offline networking events and organic Facebook connections.

    I think some people are afraid to get uncomfortable and learn how to herd people at an event, in a room, or practice asking questions during a genuine, heartfelt connection.

    This is where people like you shine, my friend, separating fact from fiction and assisting those developing their game with the right focus!
